Your Nemesis, is the solo alias Pete Diggens recorded under from 1993-1996.

Frost and Diggens released a stream of vinyl on own imprint Violent Drum and finished when Matt and Pete were discovered by Andrew Weatherall at Sabresonic which led them to sign to Leftfield’s Hard Hands label in 1997 as Dark Globe.

The ‘Welcome To Your Nemesis EP’ was written at 90 Priory Road in Dartford in Kent in 1995. This part of Dartford is the industrial area, full of paper mills and marshland, close to where Keith Richards found the dead body mentioned in his autobiography, [ Life ] as a child.

Pete Diggens: “It’s a bleak grey landscape that borders the Thames, full of chimneys and forgotten pathways. This is a time when I was letting my environment influence the music I was making, so these tracks are full of grinding pistons, smoke, screams and dirt. I was using the minimal setup of an Atari 1040 STFM, Mackie desk, EMU E4 sampler and Korg Wavestation, with a couple of cheap outboard multi FX units which naturally helped with the crunchy sounds I was trying to produce”.
